Summary of the 4th Plenary Meeting of the NOVASOIL Project

The 4th Plenary Meeting of the NOVASOIL project entitled “Innovative Business Models for Soil Health” was held on 3-4 April in Sofia, Bulgaria. This meeting brought together experts and collaborators of the project with the aim of advancing the creation of sustainable business models that promote healthy soil management. Over two intensive days, participants shared progress, discussed ongoing experiments and planned future strategies.

Objectives and evolution of the meeting

The meeting focused on discussing and validating the deliverables for month 18 of the project, with particular emphasis on coherence and interaction between the different work packages. Main topics included:

  • Deliverable update: Progress on several deliverables was presented, such as the status of the framework and the report on new incentives. Project partners were invited to provide constructive feedback to refine these deliverables.
  • Choice experiments (DCE): The next steps for choice experiments were discussed, focusing on the need to align efforts on farmer- and consumer-focused experiments.
  • Development of the NOVASOIL Toolbox: Progress was presented on the creation of a comprehensive toolbox, including a knowledge hub, a digital analysis tool and a decision support tool for implementing new business models.
