If it is necessary to use heavy machinery, measures can be taken to minimise soil damage, such as avoiding working on wet soils and using low-pressure tyres to reduce the footprint on the soil.In summary, soil compaction can have a negative impact on soil health and reduce crop productivity. To prevent compaction and maintain soil health, sustainable agricultural practices such as crop rotation, use of cover crops and reduced use of heavy machinery should be adopted.
