style=\"height:42px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eco-regimes <\/strong>are a set of agricultural practices that aim to <em><strong>improve the environmental and climate sustainability of agriculture in Europe, while ensuring safe and sustainable food production<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A team of experts has studied the implementation of eco-regimes in fifteen EU countries, including Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden. Each country has implemented different specific measures to achieve the objectives of the schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of these measures include agricultural practices that promote biodiversity, efficient use of water and energy, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and animal welfare. The number of measures varies from 3 to 21 per country, and their complexity and level of ambition varies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although some challenges and barriers to the implementation of eco schemes have been identified, such as lack of awareness and training of farmers, lack of financial incentives and complexity in the application of measures, solutions and proposals to overcome these barriers are presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It concludes that the implementation of eco schemes is essential to improve environmental and climate sustainability in Europe and to contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable agriculture.
